Italian premiere: 2 new EHF Kluge presses for foil stamping, emboss and die-cut at Gruppo Grafico Etichetta 2000.

As anticipated in our latest issue, great news from Prato. We didn’t choose the word “great” by mistake! Gruppo Grafico Etichetta 2000, just after one month by the installation of an automatic HP-20 Sunraise thermographer, has introduced 2 new EHF full optional Kluge presses for foil stamping, emboss and die-cutting. We are proud to announce that this is the first installation in Italy of the newest generation EHF press: that’s the latest model with all the recent Kluge developments allowing an extraordinary productivity and operating flexibility.

Side photo: the Kluge EHF with open guards. As you can see, this is classic platen, with infeed and delivery on the same side. The platen area access is extremely easy.

Gruppo Grafico Etichetta 2000 is a Tuscan company, finely specialized in the fashion hang-tag production, with famous international customers such as H&M, Oviesse, Patrizia Pepe, Gucci, Hugo Boss and many others. Their strength point also consists in the hang-tag “variable data” personalization: this is an essential detail, above all for the big brands which, usually, have several clothing lines.

Left photo: the unbeatable honeycomb plate system for fixing the dies, and the steel grid etched plate. Both have alphanumeric coordinates for a quick die and counterforce positioning.

Thanks to this important Kluge acquisition, Etichetta 2000 is one of the very few Italian (but also European) fashion hang-tags companies able to internally manage all the productive levels: pre-printing, printing, graphic finishing (foil stamping, textured foiling, emboss, thermography), die-cutting, creasing and variable data.
The 2 EHF presses, in fact, are able to assure a daily massive productivity, always with precision and reliability. We was glad to receive compliments by the foil stamping production manager, who was enthusiastic for the extremely operator-friendly set-up and positioning system: that’s really a key factor to improve quality. All the difficult set-up procedures typical of other platens, now are just a memory.

Upper photos: the honeycomb plate. As you can see, the toggle hooks are so tiny, and it possible to fix one die really close to the other. Moreover, such hooks allow a micrometric position adjustment. Precision and quickness: self adhesive tapes or cumbersome tools are just things of the past.

Side photo: the double heating control and the console touch screen. You can adjust (with a precision of one hundredth of millimeter) the foil roll steps. By this way, the film waste is reduced to zero. The Etichetta 2000 presses are also equipped with a special optical sensor for holograms’ reading.

Another critical factor of Kluge presses is their huge stamping pressure: this makes them essential for tough embossing and die-cutting jobs. All that at a maximum operative speed of approx. 3,300 iph. In order to keep the production as smooth as possible, Gruppo Grafico Etichetta 2000 decided to assign one EHF to foil stamping and emboss, and the other one to die-cut and creasing.

Each installation required approximately one week, and has been managed by our Hungarian-American technical engineer Tim Undis. He took care of every single step, from assembly, to set-up, operators’ training, printing trials and - finally - production.
The high quality printing results really impressed the C.E.O. of Etichetta 2000, Massimiliano Tempestini, and his collaborators: with Kluge, in fact, they will be assured of complete and solid foil stamping coverage, deep, crisp embossing and clean, accurate die cutting.

Finally, we would like to underline a winning point: as this is the first Kluge EHF installation in Italy, Gruppo Grafico Etichetta 2000 will be glad to show their presses to any interested lead (obviously excluding direct competitors, who deal with same fashion hang-tag market). Therefore, we wish them many and many years of excellent production... thanks also to Kluge EHF!
