Cronite's intaglio metallic inks and pressure variable colored metallic inks

METALLIC INKS
Cronite gold and silver inks are available premixed, ready to use. The premixed metallic inks are made to avoid the difficulty in not only obtaining the proper ratios, but also to avoid the dirtiness of the airborne powders. Special matched colored silver inks and gold colors are also available.

PRESSURE VARIABLE COLORED METALLIC INKS
Cronite has produced a new line of colored gold and silver based metallic inks.

The inks can be used to give extra pizzazz and zip to stationery, but they are being used in security printing as well, since their printed effects can't be copied and are almost impossible to reproduce.

Images left and right: from two different visual angles, the Oranged and Red-Y Silver. Upper squares refer to full strength color, lower squares refer to a 25% color - 75% Sterling Silver.

The base colors were carefully chosen to be able to match any of the inks in the Pantone Metallic Guide, plus thousands more.

The gold or silver appearance of the inks will increase with greater press pressure, if desired. Also, burnishing on a second pass may bring out the gold or silver, if desired.

In addition, if the plate or die is etched to different depths, the color (not gold or silver base) will be strongest in the deeper part of the die.

Conversely, the base gold or silver color will be the strongest in the image stamped at the shallower area of the die. In this way, a two tone image can be achieved with a single pass on the press.

The images here enclosed show the inks at full strength and at 25% strength. This is done to illustrate what the colored ink will look like when reduced with its base. Using the Cronite Data System accurate matches of colored gold and silver based inks can be made on site.
